TFCC三角纖維軟骨複合體位在手腕靠近小拇指的那一側,大約一指幅、摸起來QQ有彈性,是前臂的尺骨連接到腕骨的多條韌帶和軟骨所組成。
多了這塊小小的空間,裡面的韌帶和軟骨能夠如大小齒輪般,配合手臂肌肉做出手腕的旋前、旋後、尺側偏移的動作,而不會感到受限,讓人類能透過雙手去完成更多精細工作;身為手腕的「避震器」,在負重或出力的狀態,可以緩衝力量避免直接磨擦到附近的骨頭。
不過外力的撞擊、擠壓或是長期反覆使用手腕,例如:跌倒手撐地、重訓握啞鈴施力位置不對、打羽球反覆揮拍的動作,都有可能造成TFCC容易有磨損或產生破裂,使手腕感覺疼痛。
如果你也是上述這些容易用手腕的族群,你可以先簡單把手掌往手腕尺側(小拇指側)的方向做擠壓測試,看看是否會有疼痛感。如果會有不舒服感代表TFCC可能有受損,有急性的腫熱可以冰敷為它消腫止痛,若已進到穩定狀態,除了日常生活需要減少手腕活動讓傷口恢復外,適時的放鬆前臂肌肉,尤其是尺側的屈腕和伸腕肌,可以從源頭避免肌腱壓迫腕關節形成壓力,減輕疼痛並加速癒合的過程。
